BRONZE MIROKU BOSATSU (Maitreya) / Tana Cocoro
Buddha Statue Figure, by Isumu

Asuka period
Miroku Bosatsu will come down into the world of 5.6 billion and 70 million years after the death of Buddha.
His posture represents the fact that he is pondering the way of saving the people when the time comes.
This is modeled after a gilt bronze image of the Buddha that is believed to have been made in 666. The large diadem (head ornament) and bead pattern that colors the edges of the clothing are gorgeous, and the plump body makes a realistic beautiful statue of Buddha.
