Kudara Kannon
Kudara Kannnon is a national treasure of Japan and was made in the Asuka period (592-710). This beautiful and well-proportioned buddha statue gives a graceful impression. The face expression called “Archaic smile” is known for the slightly lifted corner of the mouth and is distinct from other buddha statues. Kudara Kannnon is a masterpiece of ancient Japan. Kannon Bosatsu helps those in need achieve salvation while attaining enlightenment and Amida Nyorai is engraved on the crown.
