Matsumoto Castle, a National Treasure
This five-story, six-story castle tower was constructed at the end of the Sengoku period.
It is the only flat-surface castle among the 12 remaining castle towers, with its exterior walls painted black lacquer. While the castle tower is equipped with stone walls and slits in preparation for battle, the Tsukimi Yagura, built in the early Edo period when there were no battles, is a structure with only thin wooden doors, demonstrating the transition from the Sengoku period to an era of peace. The majestic Northern Alps, reflected in the waters of the moat, create a beautiful backdrop that captivates many visitors.
This kit, the second in the Mini Castle Tower series, recreates the highly popular Matsumoto Castle in 1/250 scale. Despite its compact size, it faithfully reproduces Matsumoto Castle's distinctive interlocking structure, the Tsukimi-yagura (Moon Viewing Tower)'s veranda and balustrade, as well as the clapboards, slats, and stone walls, all with highly accurate laser-machined parts. All parts are laser-machined or machined, so assembly requires only minor additional work.
High-precision laser-machined parts
A dedicated water surface sheet (included in the kit) is used to recreate the inner moat, further enhancing Matsumoto Castle's appeal. By placing the northeast side of the castle in front of the display stand, you can enjoy displaying it from both the castle entrance and the inner moat.
