About Osaka Castle
Constructed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1583-1586). Burned down during the Summer Siege of Osaka.
The Tokugawa family took over power, and the second shogun, Hidetada, rebuilt it (1629).
The current castle is a high-rise building with 5 floors and 8 floors made of steel-framed reinforced concrete, and was rebuilt (1931) with donations from the citizens of Osaka.
