About Tenmangu Shrine
Tenmangu Shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, revered across Japan as the "deity of learning." Every year during entrance exam season, countless students visit these shrines to pray for academic success.
While Kitano Tenmangu in Kyoto and Dazaifu Tenmangu in Fukuoka are the two primary head shrines, there are approximately 12,000 Tenmangu shrines throughout the country. A common sight at these shrines is the Nadeushi (sacred bronze cow); visitors stroke it to receive blessings and wisdom.
About the Kit
This unique kit features a cross-section (cut-in-half) design, making it compact enough to fit beautifully on any bookshelf once completed. It is crafted primarily from high-quality natural wood, such as Japanese cypress (hinoki) and shina.
The kit consists mostly of high-precision, laser-cut wooden parts. Since non-laser-cut components are also pre-cut to size, no extra shaping is required, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable assembly experience.
To enhance its premium feel, detailed photo-etched brass parts are used extensively throughout both the exterior and interior (with the sacred mirror featuring a stunning mirror-finished stainless steel). Additionally, the included LED lights illuminate the interior, creating a serene and solemn atmosphere inside the worship hall.
