About National Treasure Ginkaku
The National Treasure Ginkaku is a building in a mountain cottage built by the 8th Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa in Higashiyama, Kyoto.
After Yoshimasa's death, it became Jishoji Temple, and Ginkaku is the Kannonden. Completed in 1489, it well represents the taste of Higashiyama culture along with its garden. It is a building that contrasts with the gorgeous golden Kinkakuji Temple.
