About the RMS TITANIC
The RMS Titanic is a luxury liner planned and built for the North Atlantic Tracks in the early 20th century.
At midnight on April 14, 1912, during her maiden voyage, she touched an iceberg over the North Atlantic and sank early the next day. Her casualties, including her crew and passengers, were 1,513, the largest marine accident of the 20th century. The Titanic accident has been made into a movie and is known worldwide.
Designed with an emphasis on the luxury of her equipment, the Titanic was particularly luxurious in its special and first-class cabins. However, there were some cabins that were not comfortable, such as the vibration of the reciprocating steam engine.
The end of the four chimneys is for ventilation of the kitchen and steam turbine. It was a dummy that did not emit black smoke, and was intended to emphasize aesthetics. There were 6 boiler rooms, and a total of 29 coal boilers were installed. Behind it were two 3-stage expansion 4-cylinder reciprocating steam engines that drove left and right screws with a diameter of 7 meters.
The screw with a diameter of 5 meters in the center is driven by turning a turbine with low-pressure steam after passing through a steam engine, and the purpose was to improve fuel efficiency.
